About Us

For those of you that may not already know me, my name is Larry Guyer.  I am the former marketing director for Better Light, Inc., the scanning back manufacturer.  After leaving this full-time position, I formed Archetype Imaging initially with several other Better Light owners that specialized in art reproduction applications.  Currently, I am continuing to work with Better Light owners and others doing art reproduction for artists, museums, or libraries. We offer installation, training and consulting on specialized photographic equipment packages.  My career focus has continually evolved to better serve my past, current and future clients.  Since the untimely death of Better Light's founder, Mike Collette, in 2017, Archetype Imaging LLC has assumed the customer service role to provide support and repair services to our Better Light family of owners. 

Since Better Light is no longer manufacturing their scanning backs, we are now importing the new Rencay scanning back from Germany and continue to sell pre-owned, refurbished Better Light products as well. Contact us for any of your scanning back needs.

With our emphasis on art reproduction, we are also representing Tarsia Technical Industries. TTI has designed and built high-quality, American-made reprographic workstations for industrial, academic and cultural heritage organizations for over 25 years.
